What Titan is

Titan is a safe non surgical facelift where an infrared light source heats the skin below the surface. This process of heating may cause immediate collagen contraction but during the procedure, the skin's surface will be protected through continuous cooling using the Titan handpiece. After the procedure, new collagen growth will result in further tightening of the skin and development of a youthful complexion.

How Titan works

The infrared light travels through to the deeper layers of skin which cause the tightening of the collagen architecture. The heat is then applied deep within the skin as some swelling and redness may occur. A single procedure may take an hour and results might be seen over time, however full benefits will not be observed for at least three to six months. Because results are not immediate the waiting period is usually the most difficult part of the procedure for most patients.

The advantage of the Titan system over other techniques, such as therma-lifting, is that skin and underlying fat is heated evenly, avoiding any fluctuations which eliminate the risk of dimpling of the skin. Due in part to its unique optical energy source, the Titan procedure does not injure the fat in the skin and patients can be successfully treated on many areas of the body where skin is loose or sagging. Anywhere from the face to the stomach, upper arms, legs or hands can be treated and patients do not have to be concerned with skin type or with pigmentation so patients of all ages, sizes, and skin types can be treated.

During treatment, you will feel a brief heating sensation over the skin. Some patients take a mild pain reliever prior to the treatment and report no discomfort although most report not having to take anything and being comfortable throughout the procedure. Following the treatment, there may be some redness and swelling in the treated area, which should disappear within a few hours.

There is absolutely no downtime involved and all patients are able to return to normal activities the same day. Results can vary; some see them immediately while others report a gradual improvement over a period of three to six months. Overall, the Titan system can be used to look younger, in treating sagginess and relaxed skin, and is a safe alternative to surgery.
